Cocoaconf Yosemite

Yosemite - 2016-03-16 at 12-17-14

In March 2016, i attended CocoaConf Yosemite, a unique event in the conference world. While aimed primarily at Mac developers the seesions involved no analysis of code or technical breakthroughs. Instead the presenters spoke of issues related to the development life—being inspired, overcomiong burnout, appreciating the world, and living more harmoniously.

The conference was held at the Yosemite (Valley) Lodge, with Yosemite Falls in constant view (even from the converence room skylight) and only a short walk away. Conference sessions happened in the morning and evening with the afternoon reserved for a variety of touring activities either with other participants or on your own. Between the afternoon activities, meals, and breaks between talks, there were numerous opportunities to network.

The weather was perfect during the confrence, mild days and nights with no threat of rain. The storms of the previous week cleared out just before the conference started. Thanks to a ‘normal’ winte’ the falls and creeks were in full flow, a delight for both the eyes and ears. You can see my photos and videosfrom the week here.

Registration has opened for the 2017 conference, to be held March 20 thru March 23. More information and registration is available at http://cocoaconf.com/yosemite
